Daffodils Sway for Saint David’s Day
Daffodil's the charming darlings of Spring
Bringing joy that lifts the whole world to sing
With their proud displays of nature's bequest
They show the earth’s scenery at its best.
A golden sensation, whence from the deep
Daffodils raise pretty heads from their sleep
Whimsical, magical stars of the hill
Swathes of charm most bewitchingly tranquil.
Picturesque scenes from dancing beauty queens
Displays of the sort only seen in dreams
Grasslands enchanting glow, row after row
Swaying to and fro as the soft winds blow.
When it's Spring again, lovers bloom again
Daffodils bow down their sweet heads to them
To the tweet of the lovebirds song they prance
Happily sharing the thrill of romance.
Long down the ages they have turned faces
These wondrous hosts of exquisite ladies
Bright yellow clusters o'er meadows and groves
Where're there's space a daffodil grows.
Gracing the Earth this enchanting flower
In the manor of Queens of the Bower
Today in their own spectacular way
They shall sway to honour Saint David's Day.
