Daedelus In Ritual

I just come
Out of the rigor mortis of need
And I breathe
Again with will to exceed
With fire
This winter withering my desire
Eagle me up
From empty vault and cup.

Mark me strong
Indomitable with praise I am
For faith commends
The promise of the Lamb
In Pentecostal
Burning bush and returning prodigal
I feel my poem
Pushing to be born.

My sun does
Not come from metal sky
Where dead winds
Suck a man's memory dry
I tan dreams
In diadem glow of eyes
And sift tongues
For the honeysuckle of surprise.

The mind is strange
Woman giving birth to things
You contend with as other
Love can heal broken wings
If the mind permits it
That is why I am focus
In prayer
While wandering through
The sands of fire.
