Daddy's Truth

As he gazed out the window, his spirits fell Sleet from the sky turned the sidewalks to hell 'I must shovel.'... At the very thought he rebelled Boots, gloves, scarf -- his anger swelled At the door his daughter called him Her voice excited and sweet 'Daddy, the snow is so gorgeous Isn't it neat?!' The man paused a few moments in the doorway 'It sure is, honey,' Daddy heard his voice say

We lived in England for two years when I was in Grade one and two, and although my Dad with born and bred British, he couldn't wait to apply to go to a warmer country - he hated having to push the snow away from the door. but I loved it. Happy New Year, Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

I try not be grouchy about the snow... esp. since it's the ice that I might slip on. ~ The slipper is off of this Cinderella

Gershon, Very nice recognizing the truths in your snow packed poem. Always two sides to every coin flipped. Perhaps both better while still in the air. -Richard

How sweet this father was! He encouraged his daughter to appreciate the beauty of winter, even though he was left with the arduous task of shoveling snow. We never let our father shovel. His children shoveled before he came home from work. So Dad actually enjoyed the snow too! Thank you for your kindness throughout the year, Gershon. You are such a sweet man! Much love and wishes for better times in 2021! Hugs, Carolyn
