Daddy's Girl
Like a tree
Firmly planted in the ground
He stands tall and sturdy
His dark eyes
Full of forgiveness and understanding
His strong hands
Callous from years of driving nails
He is a simple man
Earning every penny he spends
To some he is quite intimidating
But to you he is a soft landing
Ever since he held you
For the very first time
You had his heart
He watched you grow
Always there to lend a hand
Sometimes a
Firm hand to teach a lesson
But more often
It was soft and encouraging
He taught you right from wrong
And how to grow
To be independent
To be Strong
He fixed you bumps
Kissed your booboos
Now he still helps
To soothed your heart
When needed
You use to think
You knew it all
And now you
Heed his every word
Although you have not
Always seen eye to eye
Nothing could ever
Cause your love to cease
No matter how old
You grow to be
To him you will always be
His baby girl
And to this day
All it takes
Is his hug to help
The hurting go away
No one has ever felt
As much love
As between a daddy
And his little girl
