Daddy Was a Poet
Daddy Was a Poet!
He's been gone, decades now.
Beneath God's greenery he sleeps.
His daughter, I, thick-headed,
Now stands and vainly weeps.
I saw his heart open like a lovely rose.
Bountiful amounts of times.
I saw his heart weep torrents of rain.
Daddy so felt other peoples' pain!
I thank him now for this inheritance,
I just never understood till today!!
What a great joy it shall be for me
To meet my Daddy in heaven and
To thank him....and walk celestial ways.
