Daddy

the picture that i have of my dad
inside my brain
is of man who would
wear down his pants
when a woman says he should
an irresponsible man
determined to surrender to his own fears
i feel caught up,afraid
of being that man
biology kills me
but the fact that we've never been friends
gives me hope
that somehow i may not
adhere to the rules of his manhood
