Dad

You said you would be with me always
You said even when I was grown
You said that you’d always protect me
You lied and you left me alone.

You said I could count on you always
You said you’d be there any day
You said I would not be without you
You lied and you went away.

You said that you’d help make me smile
You said my life wouldn’t be black
You said that we’d always be happy
You lied and you never came back.

You said that you’d love me forever
You said that you had from the start
You said that you would never hurt me
You lied and you broke my heart.
