Cyrus the Virus

Cyrus the virus is now among us
Known as Corona, causing a big fuss
Hailing from Wuhan city
Infecting without pity
New yellow peril for us to discuss

Over reaction quickly takes traction
Toilet paper now missing in action
Everyone should stay in bed
Then Cyrus will end up dead
But just how long our sleeping protraction

My daughter is a public health specialist. She says if we were not so arrogant and would take orders and stay home for 21 days there would be no danger but we are arrogant and do not want to be told what to do. The perils of being Americans. Sheesh!

Hi Kenneth, I wrote and posted a poem about a fictitious virus and called it "What If", but if Wuhan rumors are true, the world has a huge problem! I truly enjoyed your limerick - well penned. Blessings, Jennifer.
