Cyclops

to a moon long hidden by treetops

it is not that i
could no longer see the forest
for the trees.
nor you
for the canopy.
you are always there
i know,
where other clouds
can touch your cheek.

soon when i am out of the woods
i will say hello
and you will wink
one eye at me.
