Cyber Life
Each morning sipping coffee while I look,
Reviewing messages left in email,
One click to check out life on my Facebook.
A friend in Oz is sharing a sweet tale,
No longer taking two weeks by snail-post,
Instantly old letters begin to pale,
A social existence but what is the cost?
No love letters tied with ribbons of red,
A way of life now seems to have been lost.
The world is quiet, words no longer said,
A text message has replaced a quick call,
An alien tongue now spelt as it is read.
Each morning sipping coffee while I look,
One click to check out life on my Facebook.
