Cuzco
High in the Andes
Under blankets of cloud
There is God’s kingdom
Where tourist crowd.
Walls of stone
Reminder of past.
Line the streets
Where people pass.
The buildings lay
Brown with age;
Blending into hills
But still center stage.
Climbing Pukamuqu
A tiring feat,
For those who try
Walk the narrow street.
Atop the mountain
Is a monument.
Watching over all
For every moment.
Cristo Blanco blesses
The ancient city below
Arms stretched wide
To embrace whole.
All are amazed, viewing
The marvelous view below
This majestic carpet
Which is Cuzco.
I would really appreciate comments and feedback. I'm new to this and want some opinions.
