CURTAINS
Setting: As curtain opens, siblings are glued to the facebook page
flooded with congratulatory messages for the children’s ensemble
under their mentorship.
Characters:
Martina – Voice coach, 30 years old
Martha-choir conductress, 28 years old
Dialogue:
Martina: Congrats, Sis; we are blest
to see these kids do their best.
Martha: Yes, I’m thankful for good reviews
surpassing fake news.
Martina: Indeed, the children radiate joyous glow
singing well with their might, not just for a show.
Martha: I delight witnessing them in their confident poise
while enthralled by their united voice midst vexing noise.
Martina: That’s why I prefer mentoring to young ones,
since they are more teachable than those who were young once.
Martha: You’re right. Children accept costumes with cheer
while adults compare what they wear against their peer.
Martina: What matters most is we optimize our singing venture
as we pray and trust God to bless our training stature.
Martha: Sure, we thank the Lord for our parents’ legacy
to fulfill tasks with excellence by His gracious sufficiency.
Epilogue: (Together, they sing their piece
to the tune of “Doe a deer a female deer…”)
Do what’s right, though faced with blight
Ready to soar along faith-flight
Me and you must see what’s bright
Following God’s guiding light
So we can work midst delight
Lamenting not for our fright
Till we reach triumphant* height
That inspires us to do more.
Curtains close.
*2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
