Curtain Call
The night calms with a rumble,
I hear the echo of the train
I concentrate so deeply
It is driving me insane.
The crickets have stopped chirping,
the wind is blowing still
there is no sign of the bird
tapping at my windowsill.
All is but so silent,
the world is shaded dark
as I lay here in question
for a journey, I embark.
I gently close my eyes,
all worries tossed just like a ball
I breathe in and back out
my final curtain call.
