Currents

Wind swept lofty hills
barren of trees
blades of tall grass
sway in the soft breeze
sounds of ocean waves
caressing the sandy shore
gulls fly overhead
swooshing downward
on gusts of wind
on the hill she stands
lost in lonely thoughts
sometimes love is lost
sometimes love hurts
feelings get hidden
in waves of regret
like the ocean current
love can flow
or hit an undertow
and be pulled under
never to resurface again
she looked out
on the sea of green
with regret of what
could have been.

Thanks for your comment. Did the picturesque view and it did not sound complete so added a little human emotion to it. Have a lovely weekend. love phyl

You paint a lovely seaside landscape Phyllis. I think, although some won't admit it, we all have some regrets. I know I do. Beautifully written and a joy to read.
