Curling Up With a Great Book
Back in the old days when life seemed so simple
No pressures and no worries
I would make the most beautiful fire in my fireplace
A crackling inviting fire that melted away the stresses of the day
I would find the most delightful book and curl up in my over-sized recliner
Sometimes I would be traveling to Jamestown and watching the early settlers
They would solve disputes and swap pelts for food
Other times I would travel to a city
Where a young girl lived in an abandoned warehouse
She waited out the apocalypse of horrors going on around her
Whatever the book my fireplace swooped me up off my feet
And landed me right into the middle of the most intriguing plot
Those days have been gone for so long
But I gotta feeling that they are soon coming back like an old favorite sweater
Me, my book, and a cozy fire
Just longing to be free
