Cuppa Couplet

Was just drinking tea when my sight was messed up
Went blind in one eye… left the spoon in the cup

One of my mother's favourite jokes, but never happened to us as we drank our coffee straight black . . . .

You must be quite young! I remember London tea ladies in the 1960s never heard of coffee, and outside of London, asking for coffee was like asking for the moon! Aloha!

Oh charming…you’re sure it wasn’t your great grandmothers favourite joke… hmmm… where’s my walking frame? Thanks, Rico. I’m sure I heard that joke (but, yes, it was coffee) when I was at school… and that was years ago! ;-) Terry

This is hilarious, Terry. I wish you had written this for my humorous couplets contest! On a more serious note, who of us has never really experienced this slight oversight!

Thanks, Milt. Have to say I’ve never left my spoon in my tea cup… I only drink coffee… I’ve left the spoon in THAT a hundred times! ;-) Terry

Lol Terry you create a comical scene. Tom.... There was a poet called Terr- ree/ Left a silver spoon in his tea/ He stood up and screamed ouch/ Dropped the cup on the couch/ And said now I can't bloody see /

I sure did miss that one, Tom. I’m working on the angle that I should be flattered. As for your ode… me? silver spoon? It’s a vicious rumour! ;-) Terry

Soup Poop. Pen in hand, Gershon watched the news/ As Milton expounded his views/ It seemed like a trend/ 'til Terry broke wind! And Tom followed fumes to the booze/ Copyright © Rico Le
