Cupid's Con

My Cynthia gone,
Now dead to me.
Wondrous beauty –
Eyes of an Angel,
Heart of Gold.

She knew her power,
I let her.
Beginning of the end.

Skydiving from the moon to
Hades itself.
Impossible ecstasy,
Unfathomable loss.

The arrow dislodged
from her alone.
A pawn to her whims.
But I have a new goddess now,
And the spell is almost broken.
