Cunning Thoughts

cunning thoughts
taking shots at my body
I want to believe
but my inner guts are stopping me
warning me to stay cool
stay to true to my true self

cunning thoughts
flashing lights
questioning me what's wrong and right
asking me to pick a side
and take a ride
to explore my pride

how cunning
just like fire, burning
and fuel my curiosity
like what are my priorities?

crafty like a fox
I'm forced to think outside the box
what is coming? How close?

Very, very interesting, Jones. It is so important that we be tuned in to our inner voices. You write so tightly, succinctly. I loved it. Thanks!
