Crystal's Birthday Has Come
It's a recurring event
in our lovely household,
every time it's someone's birthday
Crystal gets a bit angry
and with a hilarious comment says,
" I am the queen, let me shine! "
Her mom, Anna, holds up a glass of wine
and shakes her head,
" Let's gather to celebrate
a wonderful occasion tonight,
it's Corina's turn, not yours;
hug your sister and participate! "
Crystal still looks upset
and won't share the glamorous glory,
and as Corina anxiously
blows out the candles so joyfully,
Crystal's tears roll wistfully
as they all sing, " Happy Birthday,
Corina " yet, Crystal remains silent.
A birthday comes once a year
and kids get excited and scream,
what makes them happy
is each other's company;
do expensive gifts really matter
when all they want is icecream
on their cake made with chocolate,
but do they count calorie intake?
Crystal's birthday has come,
she has turned sweet seventeen...
what a beautiful teen!
Today she got the attention she wanted,
her wish is finally granted...
nothing else pleased her more than fame!
