Crystal Morning
Chantilly Lace upon the lawn, has welcomed sunrise in the dawn
Diamond gems are freely scattered upon each bloom and garden flower
Each pirouette is choreographed with tiny silver epitaphs
The pitter-patter, of glistening leaves, sip the water from the eaves
Translucent in the morning light, glittering rivulets, drip from spouts
Crystal prisms, in rainbow hues, are tossed like sugar, from the dew
Embellished by the ancient sun, shimmering rhinestones, one by one
wash the face of every petal, and polish posies on a table
Constellations on the grass, twinkling like a night of glass
Then, slowly drying in the sun, and savoring the gold, as day begins
Chantilly lace, in morning's sun, has gossamer wings to take it home
Chantilly Lace upon the lawn, that welcomed sunrise, in the dawn
has come and gone, without a sound
But leaves a cheer to be recalled
with fond affection, crystal clear
