Crystal Memories

I search my closet
looking through previous chapters
I find a box filled with colored gems
This royal blue one
symbolizing my time in the deep, majestic sea
looking for treasure and swimming with mermaids
Throwing away black and bloody red jewels
I find this cyan one
containing the memories
of me flying in the skies
smiling at the celestial angels
as I land on the ground after the helicopter ride
I look at heaven in its fullest glory
Finally, this jade crystal
emanating nostalgia years ago
when I was in a forest filled with
elm, maple, peach, apple, and cherry blossom trees
dancing under the leaves and cherry blossoms
blown by gentle wind
as I sway to instinctive rhythm
with a folding fan
but alas
it is time to put them back into the chest
and move on with the present
