Crystal Clear Drops
Crystal-clear drops of sparkling dew
form as day greets the rising sun.
And a sky of cerise and blue
affirming that the night is through,
inject color where there was none;
a brand new day has just begun.
Like pearls of early morning mist,
perfectly round globules appear.
And yet, though these dewdrops exist,
their beauty is often dismissed.
Though fetching as a bride just kissed;
they're just as quick to disappear.
But when these tiny drops amass,
they glint like shards of liquid glass.
And while Dawn's first light comes and goes
like a river that ebbs and flows;
dangling dewdrops tickle my toes
when I walk barefoot through the grass.
