Crystal Clear Drops
Crystal-clear drops of sparkling dew
glint, as day greets the rising sun.
And a sky of vergining blue:
affirming that the night is through
injects color where there was none:
for a new day has just begun.
Jewels of early morning mist,
glistening dewdrops soon appear.
And though we're aware they exist,
these gems are easily dismissed.
For clinging to plants, moister kissed,
they tend to quickly disappear.
But where tiny droplets amass,
they glint like shards of liquid glass.
And like the tide that ebbs and flows,
Dawn's breaking light soon comes and goes.
While the dewdrops tickle your toes
when you walk barefoot through the grass.
