Cryptic

Sleepy moments come
Drowsy in a bit
Siesta floating free


Body groggy
Mind in a blur grip
Sleep overtakes


Falling into a deep
Yet floating away
A dry autumn leaf


Traveling in time
Yet out of tune
With reality


Journeys far away
Beyond the walls of space
Seeing bold splendour


Moving at the speed of thought
No walls to contain
Imagination rules fine sleep


No barriers to knowing
Beyond sensory perception
Seeing yet unseeing


Come to grips to glimpse
Yet seldom remembering
Upon awakening


Seems so strange
This reminiscing
Upon things often forgotten


Memory seems so vague
Not recalling anything
Lost significance on waking


Aware of awareness
But lack memory
A dreamer's vocabulary


Then awake to hints
Only vague strains left
Completely disappearing


Yet in this forgetfulness
A certain constancy of purpose
To refresh the body-soul


Now awareness comes slowly
Upon this higher promontory
To bestow sure faith in destiny


So I awake to be aware
Of intent and passion
Where grace abides to set free
