Cruel To Be Kind
How do you look into those eyes
then sternly answer “No!”
And at the time not realize
you saved a mortal blow.
When you are relied upon,
protection may seem hard.
If you give a melting moment,
be careful when you drop your guard.
For there are some you need to guide,
and give protection from their mind.
Sometimes it pays to be cruel,
in this world to be kind.
