Crown of Thorns

Red rose petals in the wind
Falling gently to the ground
tainting red God’s blessed earth
Darkness descends all around

Cries of anguish pain and sorrow
A mother’s heart bleeds for her son
Bound and nailed to a tree
bruised and weakened, just for me

Crown of thorns that I should bear
Pierce the head of one so dear
releasing me from pain of sin
to live and love , one with Him.
