Crossroads At the Waters Edge

I sit by the edge of an ocean of sighs
Its vast eternal blue watershed speaks rhymes
Deepening my gaze with poetic eyes
As hope forms it's horizon to redefine
The tragedy I find

Along the water’s edge the tide underscores
To issue forth the transient waves
Seeking the rhythm of change to soar
With promises at dawn, my heart to save
Near yesterday’s tomorrow I aspire to be brave
For a new daybreak rising above the sullen shore

My soul sits vanquished and quiet
Befriending each spectacular stretch of skyline
The obscure night distances the sky's sorcery to pirate
A rainbow laced with foolish vows of my design
Each harboring a wishing star from yesterday’s sorrow

For tomorrow
Has foretold a new light
That reveals my heart’s shrine
To beg, steal or borrow.
Holding the remnants of my compass
Its scope reveling in the truth of my plight
As this place of peace takes away sorrow

Then arise my sighs
On the wings of birds
who have taken flight
To a source of new beginnings
Unfolding their wingspans teeming
In the golden light of the rising Sun's direction
Igniting into the perfection of promises streaming
Finding a distant resurrection
