Crossing the Bridge
CROSSING THE BRIDGE
On my journey I’ve a long way to go
racing on the meandering road called life
that will cross the uneven landscape unseen,
I don’t know what future has carved for me.
The sun is shining bright in cloudless sky,
configured contour of verdant valley in sight
I now cross, pacing the paved path of certitude,
and follow the butterfly on its trail of delight.
Beyond hazy horizon across distant blue hills
they say a turbulent river flows to uncertainty.
I’ll cross the Rubicon, future worry won’t dim sunshine
for I’ll cross the bridge when I reach the river.
