Crossing

Can't you see that there are tears, Etching streams down sunken cheeks, Hiding hopelessly, Behind this mask that doesn't speak. Won't you take this hand still trembling, And soothe it's icy touch, Anoint it with the passion, Of a love it needs so much. Won't you thread devoted warmth, Through this needle of concern, Cause the winds of hope, To once again return. For I've seen you in the distance, Barefoot in grass of dew, And I was hoping that my path, Might be crossing there with you.
