Cross of Calvary

Christ is my Savior,
In Him I take my stand.
Death shall not change my behavior,
For eternal life is pierced in His Hand.

Through the valley of deadly shadows,
I shall carry His Sword in my sheath
His compassion dwells inside my window,
His Word of Truth breathes deep beneath.

In his blood lives the Spirit of Salvation,
From His Heart streams the most divine love.
I rejoice in the covenant for forgiveness above damnation,
It is the only way I could reach Heaven above.

And even though my cross makes me weep and weary,
With lashes to my heart making life heavier.
I will hold fast, for in the Cross of Calvary,
Christ became my Savior.
