Notes About The Poem

Critical Liaisons

A poets dream, she'll seduce with her eyes, pens will desire to praise her charming guise, but be cautious, she'll treat you like her book, explore each chapter with her detailed look. Drain your ink, smoking pages in to fire, drink your spirit like blood thirsty vampire. But now it seems she may have met her match, a poet who's heart, she's struggling to snatch. He holds scriptures, she's never read before, each musing, leaves her yearning to feel more. A heart breaker, who gives no man a chance, dream maker, who leaves women in a trance. A modern day Samson and Delilah - spiritual soulmate who could tame her.

Marvellous, “a poet who's heart, she's struggling to snatch” love that line, who wouldn’t want to snatch a lover with a poetic heart. Every line’s wonderful, a superb write. . . Belle

Everyone needs a spiritual soulmate and quite correctly explained below, opposites normally attract far more, than having too much in common. Once again, your sincere, truthful heart comes to the fore and your last two lines I love - they summarize your poem perfectly. Blessings and hugs my friend, Jennifer.

I've only been in one book and that's was because it was for charity... I've no desire to be published, but thank you for your kind words.

"She'll seduce with her eyes" Well. "Who could tame her ?" It sounds like he can, because he "leaves women in a trance" Once again, your muse has created a Masterpiece. ~ Brandy

Heart-Breaker and Dream-maker quite a match.Somehow this story reminds me of The Taming Of The Shrew..I enjoyed reading it... I loved the way this poet knows how to tackle this woman ,which can easily drink each man'spirit. You describe this woman as very powerful..but the poet is as powerful as her when it comes to soul. Intriguing...Loved it.

I've never seen nor read taming of the shrew... The woman is a heartbreaker but the man is a dream maker, so she has met her match... thank you

Yes it was, but its just a story I guess... The idea of Samson and Delilah came at the end, was not the inspiration in writing this.. Thanks..

You've brought the story of Samson and Delilah to life in this wonderful sonnet S. O. Tom

Thank you, but that was a comparison to the situation of these two individuals, not really bringing their story to life..
