Crimson Sky
I close my eyes, I hear the lies.
I open my eyes; I watch the flies.
In a meadow of perfection, I retrospect.
I run through the grass, and to the pond.
I wash my face, I remember the bond.
In a meadow of perfection, I introspect.
I let the tears run down my cheek.
I remember loving the boy so meek.
Disapproval from all for a love so different.
I remember losing my love and then the depression's contend.
I watch as the sun dissipates and the moon ascends.
Looking back at my mistakes, I wonder if I was foolish, if I even tried.
And the gods once again smite my sins as I sigh into the setting crimson sky.
