When the imperial waves came rushing in, century after century upon kneel capitulation The khanate carnage was pale tears in a vassal vale devastating — What a Caucasus burial field O how those royal tributaries ever thus did yield! From Alupka to Perekop, the blue wails flowed Karusu upward As the peasant pain always settled bosom below Crimea river Khanate time after conqueror time, pauper tears would echo overflow from the princely tributaries Many streams of misery poured forth out of Crimea river grief From Kerch to Donuzlav ... from Kaffa to Eupatoria, the cerulean cries flowed into an empty crimson sky Crimea river, baleful so Salgir wide — This was Al'ma where the Circassian heart of freedom died

And the river continues to flow red from the Russkies today, doesn't it? Superb rendering, Freddie... btw, ya think that the popular song, 'Cry me a River' derived from the Crimea River? Sounds like a good bet. :) Cheers, Gershon
