Creeping Shadow

"I understand"
"Let me help you"
Wooed addiction..."I'm your friend"
"I'll always be right here"...(Lurking)
A wolf/sheep's clothing blend

Each morning, your demons find you
Dwelling on unfinished dreams
The Creeping Shadow preys on weakness...Swarming
Silencing your screams

There's no escape! The monsters rise up!
Shadow's poison dulls your pain
Must crawl into the darkness...Creeping
Craven hostage, drink my vein

Shadow demands you follow!
Darkened passage charms your shame
Past mistakes, unrelenting...Shaking
Consuming guilt
Exploiting blame
Because...
Life's atrocities find a way...Twisting
Corrupting all who lay
Whether the perpetrator or the victim
Carves the spirit out, to slay
But...
Every so often, hear it...Alluring
A soft echo drifts in air
A voice gently hovers...Intriguing
Arousing hope, inside despair

Listen...

"I understand!"
"Let me help you!"
A distant whisper weeps
Begging you, hear these words...Insisting
'Let go! What addiction keeps"
Because...
Your denial feeds the torment
All the lying seals your bond
Awaken deadened feelings...Fight!!
Trust yourself, to look beyond
So...
Choose a life!
Not...Enslavement
Unlock the truth, exposure gives
Take a chance on yourself...Deserving
Knowledge serves, so achievement lives
And...
It's only in you, to see them
Lurking in the corners, lies you've told
Truth is power against your weakness...Strengthening
Your mind...Take back control
Then...
Tell others, your silent darkness
Addiction doesn't define, nor seal your fate
Maybe someway, somehow...Victorious
Creeping Shadows bonds can break
