Creep
The shards left of the mirror still defy me
While you stand shining beside me
Radiant, you're radiant and glorious
I lurk towards the shadows to hide me
But I steal a fragment of the mirror
The silver glass I love and despise
I sit all alone in the corner
And glare at my reflection with weeping eyes
I creep in the shadows that hide me
It seems a fitting word now, creep.
For while you smile in daytime and nighttime
I'm unforgivably rotten even in my sleep.
Would things be better if I stayed to myself?
Would it change if you left me alone?
No.
I'd still have the image of your perfection
Haunting my every nerve and bone
