Creep

There’s a shadow in my closet
That disappears when I smile
Thriving in my fall
Resting in my thoughts
Caressing fears in my sleep
Look at the mirror
Creeping in my hair
Change the style
Creeping in the skirt
Walk to the crowd
Creeping in my shoes
Let go, I say
Yet it always returns
In different ways
