Create In Me a Pure Heart

create in me a pure heart
so that I may worship my Lord God
remove from me the taint of sin
so that I may be with Him once again
cover me with the blood of Christ
give me freedom from struggle and strife
I say the Sinner's Prayer to repent and atone
now acceptable in God's eyes to never again walk alone

create in me a clean heart
and fill me with the Holy Ghost
forgiveness for my sinful state
is what I now need the most
lead me not to my own understanding
for there's nothing that I can change
I now heed what the Lord is commanding
for all you see He arranged

create in me a faithful heart
full of belief and hope
I place my life in God's hands
where He'll give me the means to cope
I know now to trust in Him
for He always knows what's best
My Father, My Creator 
My Spiritual Generator
Who'll give me peace and rest

create in me a sinless heart
