Crayons and Colors

As she began to draw the face
I became inspired by this young child's grace
Using several different and varying shades
Until the very first color completely fades

And then with such a piercing detail
Pulling back her hair with a beautiful blue veil
Now bowing the woman's eyes down
As she then makes a simple stable in shades of brown

Going back, she finishes the first part
Having her cradle a baby close to Her Heart
Yet this baby I sense is unique
As atop she writes words that only an angel could speak

She wrote "Glory be to the new born King"
Then she drew an Angel as these words He would sing
Being so tiny and fragile, only in the third grade
This little girl was certainly not afraid

Be not afraid!
Dedicated to the girls of Chibok
"Bring back our girls"
