Crannies

We all have them,
clothes, shoes - whatevers,
hesitation has enshrined
in the "Maybe next year" vault.
Perhaps they will fit one day
in more than memories
that surround them.

We all have them,
pieces of yesterdays
any Road Show host
would ignore, yet,
we cherish them
drenched in daydreams.

We all love them,
shoes with the mud
of another day,
trapped in the crannies
of our souls ...

The ""Maybe next year" vault is hilariously accurate. The ending, turning the whole thing into a metaphor is genius, Craig.

Your poem hit me hard...of putting off going through my closet to give away clothes I haven't worn in maybe 15-20 years...Shameful. I love the way you ended this Craig. : )
