Notes About The Poem

6/23/2025 for Spiritual Gem Inside Me Poetry Contest sponsored by Mystic Rose Rose

Cracked

My aims, this way achieved, I must atone.
A man, so old, my affections were sold,
and today, I find I am so alone,
inside resides a wilderness of cold,
at my interior, a heart of stone.
I'd like to think that it was made of gold,
with structural integrity, intact,
but can it ever be, now it has cracked?
