Cowboys In the Rain
Cowboys are dancing
in a kaleidoscope
of colored shirts,
faces hidden
beneath shadows of hats,
the silver bands
catching flecks of light
like raindrops
on an umbrella,
feet and legs blurring
in a two-step,
blending like colors awash
in a storm.
In the round
they move,
like water rippling
to the edges of a pool,
the colors splashing
into one another
until all that is left
is the murky outline
of a circle
and the cleanly-washed gleam
of the floorboards.
