Covid and Chaos
Having nightmares, working from home?
Or being bolted inside four walls for days
Catch up on reading, fiction and writing
Pick your authors and gulp them down
Catch up on music lessons, instruments too
Grasp them now, be it spiritual or Carnatic
Engage with Yoga and exercise for energy
Repeat meditation and transcend mind
Listen to film songs of your choice
Tamil, Hindi, English or just Folk
Try with Karaoke and Smule
Or fiddle with Wynk and Gaana
Watch movies that are chartbusters
And other soaps that are hot
Children would love video games
Netflix, Prime Videos will serve the rest
Sleep long if you must; but get up early
Enjoy morning chill; gaze the Sunrise
For that on which the World counts much
This time too, is Sun - the savior!
Let house gardening inspire your wits
Pluck the flowers; and collect the vegetables
Service water filters; clean up OH tanks
And clear up the water lines and pipes
Wash car and the bike yourself
Clean up the halls and bedrooms
And dust the curtains clean and dry
Wash clothes; dry them and press at once
Tidy the home; only call up friends you like
Do up your albums that are hiding unseen
Share the pictures with dudes and family
Dispose things that are not needed
Try new recipes; and everyone take turns
Enjoy home cooked foods and dessert
Eat lunch and dinner with all of family
Engage with kids; give wings and flight
Spend time with your pets
Give them a bath or brushing
And let them wonder why?
Let fish tanks become a delight
Groom yourself and pamper to glory
Spruce up the wardrobe and chestnut
Let footwear rest and get a polish
Oil the body, wash the hair to shine
Listen to birds’ chirp and cocks crow
Appreciate crows caw; cuckoos koo
It means life is there for all to look up
For speaking and enacting the drama
Read the Gita, Bible or Quran
And give Pooja place a face lift too
Give deities the wash they appreciate
They always hold the key to peace
Send get well card to young and old;
Friends and family, near and far
A birthday card; an anniversary wish
A congratulatory message, pending
Remove the clutter; do away with waste
Discard unwanted things, shred papers old
Forget enmity; write your wills soon!
Reset and tweet your goals and dreams
Enjoy your success; shun all worry and cry
Don’t need catch up on neighbors for once
Let them have their space to themselves
Just as everyone should have their own!
