Covid -19

The air is filled with laughter
Children playing happily in the street
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood
Parents watching - it's kind of neat

Like a scene from It's a Wonderful Life
The days of old appear to have returned
It looks like we’re all in this together
The emotions - for many years we all have yearned

Wait - What's that?
All the business are closed
A lock down - shelter
Unchartered waters proposed

Social distancing - six feet
Essentials - free room to roam
Small businesses don't have worry
The government printing money as we go

Fast food lines are extremely long
Ironically, it takes forever to eat
Starbucks drive throughs hit record highs
Essentials? Interesting, or Is it just me?

People flood the grocery stores
Like lemmings to a cliff they go
Water and toilet paper?
Buying up every bottle, and every roll

Liquor stores stay open
Alcohol does keep us calm and clean
It's a depressant and disinfectant
Wink wink - I think you see

Covid-19 does not create stress and anxiety
It reveals our stress and anxiety to a tee
It exposes our selfishness
We’re more concerned with me - not we

Viruses will come and go
Like seasons change with time
Do we take heed of the situation?
Or die before our time?
