This enemy is a powerful one, Conquering its victims By the thousands, Harvesting them, As if, they were vulnerable preys And it, a mythical predator! It comes stealthily, As stealthily as would a cheetah And pounces on without any warning Dismantling its victims Down to their bones! The chances of escaping are there, But for that, One would have to be robust, Strong in health and full of stamina! It conquers still, and has been conquering Ever since it first birthed in total mystery As if, It were the seedling planted on Earth By the forces of darkness Wanting to see humanity cough itself To its death! It crosses borders without being detected And jumps from one human to another Without giving any hint at what its next Steps would be! It holds us all in breathless fear Dreading the time Our country would have to hail its fallen flag And proclaim that the counting of victims Has started And seems to laugh and mock at our intelligence As we struggle to find a way to annihilate it! An enemy, microscopic, Yet, leaving its footprint, as if It were a huge Goliath! Pray, the time is now, If we act not this second, We might not be given another opportunity to! We are to hold each other's hands tightly And face it As bonded brothers and sisters sharing the same house, Having sprouted from the same source And having in us, the same blood and the same organs! We are to show it That united together, we become mightier than it And that we shall reduce it back to nothingness! The harmony singing in the life of Earth Shall then prevail as its anthem The fallen brothers and sisters shall remain as The sacrificed Meant to be remembered and honored With all due respect And the peace of our livelihood shall be seen Once more, In our stressful routine and our daily load of toils! This enemy, even mighty in its tiniest state Shall be conquered, As the skies themselves whisper so! All we have to do is to Wrap our hearts with the faith That such does will, for us, Our Lord Himself! Written on 13th March 2020
