Courage and a Compass
Courage searches for itself
in a thousand different directions
like a four pointed compass
gravitating its sharpened needle
toward the landmarks and treasures
we seek to embrace
Traveling north leads to bravery
traveling south leads to fearlessness
traveling east leads to fortitude
and traveling west leads to determination
We can pick and choose
any direction we want to follow
but regardless of
where we all end up
we will all find our own spot
of courage stamped with an "X"
on the inside of our hearts
