Courage
I crave it,
Like a bottle of champagne,
Desiring to be opened,
As the cork pops,
After been stored away,
For far too long,
Waiting for that celebration day,
Years held in captivity,
By frustration and fear,
Until temptation takes the fizz,
Always wanting a drink,
But leaving it for another day,
Knowing it has a sweet taste,
And a big kick,
Always thinking!
But not enough drinking,
Never reaching for it,
So freedom can be released,
With every sip,
Took hold of courage,
Being brave.
Opening it up today,
Pouring a glass or two,
Speaking from the heart,
And sparkling with intoxication,
From one single berry,
Into vineyards of growth.
