Courage

He watches her leave
Wishing she knew
Of his enduring love
Only when courage
Gives him voice to speak
Will she know his truth
The hold she has on him
He looks to hold her gaze
Hoping for a backward glance
A sign giving him hope
That she feels the same
He waits in anticipation
As she leaves his sight
Heart and mind torn
Conflicted and frustrated
He knows until he speaks
His love for her
Will consume him inside
