Coup De Grace

A white-hot fire
      That once raged furiously
    Becomes a moribund flame
                   Flickering...
As it dims in the racing wind
            Continually fighting
        To keep on, yet steadily
               Losing the battle
      Til an unkind fate douses
      The once smoldering heat
                 A lethal blow!
                A white-hot fire
      That once raged furiously
     Now an evaporating smoke
                 The story of us...
