Countryside
A valley of pride and happiness
A valley of faith and love
From the streams in the panoramic hillside
To the sheep in the mountains above
A valley of picturesque beauty
A breathtaking view all around
A magnificent picture of Edale
Of the mountains and peaks that surround
Flying overhead so smoothly
Are the elegant wings of a pheasant
The sound of a grasshopper chirping
Disturbing the evening so pleasant
Heather and crops wildly growing
In the meadows and hills all around
Sheep in the fields grazing freely
Climbing each hill, peak and mound
The mist hanging low o’er the mountains
The vast hills which climb to the sky
The walls which surround each hill and meadow
Right around the huge valley so high
A magnificent world of tranquillity
A glorious valley so wide
A tangible atmosphere present
In this beautiful green countryside.
