Counting the Years

Counting the years,
And willing the clock
To run faster.
Patience is needed, if not,
Your life would be over
Before ours had begun.
One day I will face you,
Loving what I know of you,
And trusting what I do not.
One day I will face you,
Knowing I am yours,
To have, to hold.
One day I will face you,
Counting my blessings,
And willing the clock
To stop.
