Counting Sheep

His whole flock was in the field as He watched from above
For in His heart they have been sealed by His great love
And there they would graze as a very big part of their day
The Shepherd in all their days until one up and went stray

In knowing the others were okay He looked for the one lost
Not able to hear what He'd say would come with certain cost
Predators would soon come and inside he had reason to worry
And the sheep being so dumb and everything looked so blurry

But he suddenly would hear the shout from the Shepherd
He heard His Voice so clear and he knew that exact Word
Shooting off he went running as fast as he possibly could
For that is what the Lord meant that each of us also should

You will know His Voice for His Spirit He has placed inside
It's your freewill and choice but the sheep ran to His side
The dumbest animal of them all as you see God's humor
Don't be the one to miss His Call in closing shut that door
